GENERAL WORK DESCRIPTION - The work, in general, to be done under this contract consists of emergency services for urgent tree pruning for work on trees that may fall unexpectedly in the Chico City limits. Tree failures may include large limb breakage, split trunks, uprooting or trunk failures and may occur at any time of the day or night. This will be a two-year contract, with one possible one-year extension. BIDDERS INFORMATION - You must be registered with Public Purchase (Free Registration) prior to accessing documents. Each bid must be accompanied by cash, a certified or cashier's check, or a bid bond in favor of the CITY OF CHICO in the amount of $1,000.00, such guaranty to be forfeited should the bidder to whom the contract is awarded fail to enter into the contract. BID AWARD PROVISIONS; REJECTION - An award of bid, if a bid is awarded, will be made to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid complies with the City's requirements described, subject to the right of the City to award the contract to a bidder who is not the lowest responsible bidder when the City determines it would be in the best interest of the City. Bid will be awarded within ninety (90) days of the bid opening date. PREVAILING WAGES: PAYMENT REQUIRED State Prevailing wages are required to be paid to members of each craft or classification performing work on this project. A copy of the current State Prevailing Wage Determination for this project is on file in Department of Public Works Engineering Office at 411 Main Street, 2nd Floor. APPRENTICESHIP STANDARDS - In accordance with the provisions of Part 7, Chapter 1, Article 2, Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code of the State of California, the prime contractor shall be responsible for fully complying with the provisions of this Section, as well as any regulations adopted by the Director of Industrial Relations, for all apprenticeable crafts or trades, and shall also assure compliance by his/her sub-contractors with respect to such apprenticeable crafts or trades.
